Delapré Abbey Wedding with Thanks Competition

Terms and Conditions/ Rules of Play

  1. The competition is open to residents/at least one resident of Northamptonshire/ or UK aged 18 or over, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, except Delapré Abbey employees, their close relatives and anyone connected with the competition.
  2. Only people who are deemed to be key workers under the UK Governments COVID19 definition can be nominated for this competition.
  3. All competitions are free to enter. However, participants are expected to pay their own cost of connecting to the web site.
  4. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be required by the winner of the competition.
  5. The competition will run from 10TH June at 23:59 to 28TH July at 23:59. Entries outside of the period will not count.
  6. Entries need to be completed using the entry form located at and explaining why the person/s nominated should be considered to win.

  8. No other method of entry will be accepted and only one entry is allowed per household with any multiple entries disregarded.
  9. Prior to judging, the entries will be moderated for compliance with these terms and conditions by a panel made up of members of the Delapre Abbey team. Additional and appropriate individuals may also be engaged depending on the volume of entries.
  10. The entries will be viewed, and 1 winner chosen by a panel of representatives from the local community.
  11. The winners will be announced in the week commencing 17th August 2020.
  12. Entrants must be available via the contact information provided. If, after reasonable attempts a winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours, that entrant’s participation in the competition ends and the Prize will be offered to the next best finalist and they shall be deemed the winner.
  13. The Prize consists of a venue hire, food, drink, wedding mc and dj, wedding band, bride hair, wedding car, flower and venue dressing, wedding stationary, wedding cake, wedding photography.
  14. The prize does not include accommodation costs, clothing, accessories, and other expenses.
  15. Winners can book the free event between November 2020 and December 2021 based on availability and at the discretion of competition organisers. Competition winners must book their event by 1st October 2020 to make use of this prize.
  16. The prize is stated as above. There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.
  17. Delapré Abbey panel decision as to entrants taking part and winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered.
  18. Competition winners agree to take part in any post-competition publicity if required. Your email address, name, age, and any other personal details will be handled by Delapré Abbey in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Delapré Abbey will only ever use your personal details for the purposes of administering this competition and to inform entrants of other related events at Delapré Abbey.   19. Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust accepts no liability if entrants ignore the rules and entrants agree to fully indemnify Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust against any claims by any third party arising from any breach of these rules.
  20. All entries must not contain illegal, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive or any other unsuitable material. Entrants and finalists must not put themselves in danger at any stage of this competition.
  21. Winners grant to Delapré Abbey royalty-free licence to broadcast details of their entry (whether text, photographs, audio, or videos) across all media, as well as use it on any online platforms.
  22. No fees or expenses will be paid for the creation of any part of the entry.
  23. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their application is accurate in all aspects during the lifetime of the competition (including the judging).
  24. This competition is conducted in line with the Delapré Abbey’s Privacy Policy and Competition Ethics which can be found on:

Delapré Abbey reserves the right to: (i) amend these terms and conditions and vary the competition rules including but not limited to the opening and closing times; (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules, displays rude, insulting or inappropriate behaviour at any point (including prize fulfilment) or has acted fraudulently in any way and; (iii) cancel the competition, at any stage, if in its opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside its control.

Delapré Abbey, their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any server, system, network or mobile operator or service provider or otherwise which may result in any registration not being properly logged or not recorded.
  27. Delapré Abbey, their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any reason that the winners’ event is cancelled for any technical reason or any other problem suppliers before during or after the event
  28. Due to current circumstances surrounding COVID-19 we will do our best to ensure the competition dates and results will run as displayed, however delays and cancellations maybe possible. Please bear with us during this time.
  29. Claims are only valid if the winner’s name and address are on the electoral roll. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure their contact details on the site are correct and up to date.
  30. Prizes are offered by Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust and 3rd party companies. If a prize is offered in conjunction with another company and the other company withdraws or fails to provide it, Delapré Abbey will not provide the prize itself. Any special terms and conditions associated with this type of prize will be displayed on the entry page below the competition.
  31. If the prize sponsor fails to deliver the prize to the winners, this is not the responsibility of Delapré Abbey to replace this prize (although full assistance will be given in trying to resolve this).
  32. If a participant receives a winner notification in error, then no prize will be due.
  33. If there is an error in the prize description, value, number of winners or other then there will be no obligation to fulfil the prize.
  34. The prizes are not for resale or transfer and participants in breach of this may have their prize cancelled/suspended.
  35. Any participant found to be using robot forms to enter a competition will invalidate their entry to the competition and will be disqualified from the competition.
  36. Prize winner’s details will be displayed on the website as initial and surname only e.g. S. Smith.
  37. Any images and names supplied will be deemed to have had any copyright ownership transferred to competitions at Delapré Abbey and may be used for future promotions.
  38. Winners details are sent to the Prize sponsor as part of fulfilment of the prize and for PR opportunities – The prize sponsor can sometimes include both the PR agency and the end Brand or one or the other in order to fulfil the prize and undertake an PR related to this.
  39. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when registering.
  40. The competition is run by Delapré Abbey. The applicable law is that of England and Wales.
