Delapré Abbey can be explored by free flow all day. The route you take is up to you and the space is yours to enjoy. Learn about the lives of the nuns, navigate the labyrinthine that is the Nine Rooms and be wowed by the spectacular Bouverie Rooms.

Guided tours take place at 11:30am and 1:30pm each day and you can sign up to one of these in the Visitor Welcome Centre when you purchase your admission.

The shop is stocked with wonderful gifts, crafts and produce from local suppliers. Pocket money gifts, souvenirs and stunning artwork can all be purchased to suit every taste and budget. Our café also provides an excellent excuse for an indulgent treat! Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch, you’re sure to find something to get the taste buds tingling.

How to get here

Delapré Abbey is ideally situated to visit from all parts of the country. Easily accessible by car from the A45 or M1, the Abbey feels like a breath of fresh air in the heart of Northampton. We also have easy links by bus and rail. Car parking is free.


Tickets are available for purchase on the day of your visit by coming into the Visitor Welcome Centre. We can also accommodate visitors buying tickets in advance, again from our shop.

Look around the rooms

Whilst wandering the corridors and rooms, you will experience the atmospheres of history for yourself. In our main Victorian Suite, you can make like the lady of the house by reading a book in the Library, watching the Victorian puppet show in the Dining Room and admiring the spectacular ceiling in the Drawing Room. Discover items which represent a key part of the history in the Nine Rooms and experience the rustic charm of the Medieval Zone. You might even spy a wandering nun…
