Filling the dancefloor at your dream wedding

What do you remember most about a wedding? The vows, the dress, the wedding breakfast? Research suggests 80 per cent of guests remember the entertainment.

Finding just the right song for that first dance can be a headache for many couples – but the decisions gets a lot easier when the band in question can recreate any classic from the last 30 years.

Meet James, Carl, Chris and Jonny – the talented foursome behind Whiteroom, a contemporary rock and pop band from Northampton, which has been regaling audiences with chart-topping hits for more than 10 years.

This year they want to give something back.

The four-piece, which has played gigs all over the county including The Picturedrome, is one of a handful of generous Northamptonshire businesses taking part in a unique Delapré Abbey competition – to treat one key worker couple to the wedding of their dreams.

Wedding with Thanks’, which will see one lucky couple say ‘I do’ next year, has been organised by the historic urban country house to thank and celebrate carers, key and essential workers in Northamptonshire who have gone above and beyond during the coronavirus crisis.

The prize package includes everything from wedding rings and stationery to a hair stylist for the bride, wedding cake, DJ and flowers – with Whiteroom serving up two 45-minute performances as part of the fabulous competition bundle.

The band, which cites The Killers, The Kings of Leon, Blink 182 and Green Day as its influences, will be providing a professional audio setup, including PA and lighting, for the special day.

James says: “Throughout this pandemic we’ve seen so many special events close to our hearts get cancelled or rescheduled – we want to be able to give back to the many people who have given up their time and sacrificed so much to keep the country safe.

We are really chuffed to be able to provide a free gig to the competition winners, and are very excited about making their day even more special, as a thank you for all their efforts and hard work during this difficult time.”
