Love Parks Delapré

Start the summer holidays with plenty of fun-filled activities at Delapré Abbey.

From Monday 19th to Sunday 25th July, enjoy a week of celebrations that showcase what your local green space has to offer all year round.

This #LoveParksWeek2021, Keep Britain Tidy is asking the public to love, respect and protect our local parks. Park Management Committee along with partners Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust, West Northamptonshire Council, Delapré Lake Angling, Northampton Society of Model Engineers, and Northampton Water Ski and Wakeboarding Club have organised park users to put on a week of events to celebrate all that Delapré has to offer.

Activities during the week include dog grooming workshops, a puppy social, photography workshops, fishing lessons, demos and competitions, sightseeing water rides, a nature trail and scavenger hunt, an open studio of Northampton Society of Model Engineers and tours of Delapré Abbey and the Walled Garden.

Some activities will need to be booked in advance, have a browse of these here.

From this week, through to the end of August, the Abbey will be open Sundays through to Thursdays for the school break with chaperoned tours of the House available from 11am–5pm. For Love Parks Delapré there will also be guided tours of the Walled Garden on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th July for visitors to find out more about the flowers, sculptures, history and maybe even spot the claimed ghost of a nun!

Covid measures will be in place throughout the event. The safety of visitors, volunteers and staff is a key priority to the Abbey team, and we are proud to be part of Visit Britain’s Good to Go scheme, which means you can visit safe in the knowledge that we adhere to government and industry COVID-19 guidelines.

Activities and events are free apart from the Abbey tours which remain at admission price unless an annual pass holder. For bookable activity tickets and more information click here.
