Meet By Claire
Claire Hardacre, who runs gift and décor business By Claire, will be showcasing her very first Christmas range with us and she could not be any more excited!
“The Delapré Abbey Christmas Fair is so special to me as it’ll be my first in person fair in my hometown of Northampton. I’m so excited to be exhibiting in such a stunning venue, at my favourite time of year. When coming to my stand, customers will get my customary free themed sticker – think happy Christmas vibes – and will be able to feel a Jesmonite Tealight Egg by my Mum (the unsung hero By Claire). These tactile eggs are a big and very smooth favourite.”
What’s unique about By Claire?
“One of my most popular products is the Jesmonite Happy Planter. These come in pretty much any colour you could wish for and with a plant already included.
Another popular choice from is my resin Seascapes – the perfect way to bring a beach into your home. They are made with real beach sand, shells from the South of France, and finished off with gorgeous blue hues and sharp white waves – you can almost hear the sea crashing onto the sand as you look at it.”
You won’t want to miss out on…
“A Jesmonite Terrazzo Star and Bunting Set, Resin Reindeer Baubles, and my personal favourite, the Jesmonite “Dear Santa” Christmas Eve Mat. My stand will be a perfect mix of Christmassy goodness, sophisticated décor and gift ideas for your gifting this Christmas.”
Meet The Wine Tap Van
After a complete sell out of mulled wine in 2020, The Wine Tap Van makes a return to our Christmas Fair…
“After buying the van in July 2019 the business has truly taken off and we’ve been to some incredible events, including the Delapré Abbey Christmas Fair last year. The setting at the Abbey really is something special. It’s a beautiful place to get everyone together for some festive cheer with a glass of wine in their hand. Our mulled wine was an absolute hit last year and completely sold out. “
Why our van is so unique…
“We will be serving a new mulled cider recipe along with some festive cocktails which we will keep a secret for now. We also have some new wines on the taps – the Primitivo is especially good and we now have two natural wines for more adventurous customers to try. Guests are welcome to taste our wine before buying bottles.
Everything is on tap as it’s the most environmentally friendly way to serve it. We are passionate about making great quality wine, over great quantities. We will also be selling organic, vegan wine on tap to drink at the Fair or to take home in re-usable bottles. seasonal wine cocktails and mulled wine will also be available as these are customer favourites. We will be providing you with quality wine for the full duration of the Delapré Abbey Christmas Fair”
Meet Caddyscakes
Tuck into Caddy’s Cakes! Founder Shannon Cadd can’t wait to exhibit and promote her baked goodies.
“I’ll be offering some of my classic products as well as my best sellers, all with a Christmas twist. There will be cupcakes on offer that have a tasty surprise inside. I’ll also have cranberry and white chocolate cookies, chocolate orange brownies and gingerbread cupcakes to list just a few. I will be doing a shortbread white chocolate and caramel slab which I think will be popular. For the little ones, I’ll be selling children’s activity packs with a handmade decorated biscuit too.”
I’m looking forward to…
“I can only imagine how busy and filled with laughter the Abbey will be. It’s the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit and Delapré Abbey is the most beautiful place for those to admire. There’s no better place to hold a Christmas Fair. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the local businesses get together to sell their products in such a festive atmosphere. I can’t wait to see everyone’s happy faces and to get my business out there a bit more after not having the opportunity to do so because of Covid-19. It’s so exciting to be baking new products for the Christmas season and for my old and new customers to enjoy my creations.”
Meet Nenette Chocolates
Nenette Chocolates is a regular exhibitor at the Delapré Abbey Christmas Fair. Founder Nenette Scrivener, a banker for 10 years and then a chartered accountant for 20, set up her chocolate company after being inspired to escape the ‘rat race’…
“Delapré Abbey is such a beautiful setting which is why I absolutely love exhibiting here, particularly at Christmas. I’ve been taking part in the Fair for several years and meeting new customers at the Abbey just gets more exciting each year – particularly those who come looking for me specifically. I’m also looking forward to spending time at the Abbey as it’s a lovely place to celebrate Christmas.”
My Christmas goodies…
“The big new product that I have introduced for this Christmas is the ‘Smashables’ – they’re hollow spheres of chocolate and are filled with a wonderful surprise of sweeties. These are each hand-decorated in Christmassy colours. The idea is that you find something robust and use it to give your smashable a firm whack. This will mean you end-up with a delightful mess of chocolate and sweeties to play with. The smaller version of this are my hot chocolate bombs – one of my most popular products last year. My range of luxury, handmade chocolates is extensive and visitors to the Abbey’s Fair will be in for a tastebud-tingling array of samples.
My boxed truffles always make lovely Christmas gifts as well as snack bars such as the honeycomb – these make the perfect stocking fillers. Our customers can also create their own hampers to make it even more personal!”
