Smart Woman’s Big Event

Last Wednesday we were delighted to host the first Smart Woman’s Big Event in our exquisite Billiard Room. Over 60 members of The Smart Woman’s Business Hub, a Facebook group managed by mentor and coach, Karen Kissane, travelled to Delapré Abbey for a full day of networking, celebration, and learning with like-minded women in business.

Featuring seven speakers from the Facebook community, Karen emphasised that the day was about lifting and inspiring attendees through the sharing of stories, insights, and how challenges have been overcome. Speaking about her role and ambitions with the group, Karen stated “I help ambitious women pursue their big business goals”.

The unique setting for the day, our recently restored Billiard Room, is an 18th century Orangery which was converted to a Billiard Room in the 19th century by John Augustus Sheil Bouverie. The room features wallpaper by celebrated English architect and designer C. F. A Voysey, and splendid views of the Abbey’s grounds.

Following its renovation and opening to the public in 2018, Delapré Abbey has a number of high-quality, attractive and well-equipped spaces available for public hire. A grand setting steeped in history and set amidst the splendour of mature parkland on the River Nene, the Abbey offers an inspiring, elegant and comfortable setting for any corporate or private event, whether it’s a conference, product launch, or team building activity.

We have a range of flexible options and packages available, including day delegate rates and dry hire, with refreshments and buffet lunches available from our onsite gourmet catering company, Tom Hewer Catering. All our rooms offer complimentary Wi-Fi, projector, screen and stationary.

Delapré Abbey is close to the centre of Northampton and less than an hour’s drive from London or Birmingham.
