our history

Be among the first to support Northampton’s newest and most exciting visitor attraction.

  • Fundraising & Donations

We’re making new memories with this 900 year old building by opening the doors to the public for the first time in its history in March 2018. The Abbey has undergone a multi-million pound restoration programme and been painstakingly restored to its former splendour.

Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust is an independent charitable trust with no ongoing revenue funding. We rely on the generous support of partner organisations such as the Heritage Lottery Fund, other charitable trusts and foundations and, most importantly, from our individual and corporate sponsors and supporters.

There has been substantial investment to help make phase 1 a reality. Some of this has been spent on the physical restoration works and some on the Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust creating plans, including activity, interpretation, and operations to bring the Abbey back to life.

Phase 1 is coming close to completion and the Abbey, the Trust now need to generate income from admissions, events, function hire, retail, and catering to cover its running costs, continue to conserve the building and develop future plans to further restore the building and bring more parts of it back into long-term use.

If you would like to help us develop onto the next stage donate now by visiting our GoFundMe page.
